About this type : Le krugerrand est frappé à partir de 1967. Il pèse 33,9305 g. à 22 carats soit une once d'or (31,111 g d'or pur). En 1977, 3.331 pièces ont été frappées en type normal et 8.500 pièces en proof. Il existe deux variétés de cannelure pour ce millésime (188 ou 220 marques).

History : L'Afrique du Sud est devenue indépendante en 1961 et a quitté le Commonwealth.
